• Level 2: Use of threats, weapons, or causing harm.

• Level 3: Severe injury or life endangerment.

You have rights and protections under the Victim's Bill of Rights, including:

• The Right to Information: Updates on your case and available support.
• The Right to Protection: Measures to ensure your safety and privacy.
• The Right to Participation: A voice in decisions about your case.
• The Right to Restitution: Compensation for lost wages, therapy costs, or emotional damages.
• The Right to Support Services: Survivors are entitled to access a variety of support services tailored to their unique needs including counseling, advocacy services, crisis intervention, and referral services.

Report to Police: You can report in person, online, or by calling 9-1-1. Not sure how it works? Here’s what to expect:

• You have the right to bring a support person.
• Police will ask questions about what happened—take your time and set boundaries with your support person beforehand.
• You can get updates on your case and make additions if new details come to mind.

• A Sexual Assault Evidence Kit (SAEK) can collect important evidence if you choose to report later.
• Not all hospitals have SAEKs, so it’s good to call ahead or ask for help finding one nearby.
